Body Literacy Basics is a teenFEMM© course specifically designed to help educate and empower young girls and teens as they navigate through the changes that come with puberty. Joelle and Taylor are dedicated to helping girls understand and embrace the changes their bodies undergo during puberty. With a focus on menstrual cycle health, charting, and body awareness, this course will provide a safe and supportive environment to discuss and learn about the intricacies and anatomy of the body, reproductive hormones, how to care for our body, and so much more.

Body Literacy Basics is specifically designed for young girls and teens* who are navigating the transformative journey of puberty. They do not have to have started their menstrual cycle yet, but it may help them to understand the content better if they have.
We have two classes: one for girls between the ages of 10 and 15 and another for older teens between the ages of 15 and 17. For girls 18 and older, please email joelle@yinRoot.com.

We divide the girls into appropriate age groups. One class has participants aged 10-15, and another class has participants ages 15-17.

Yes! One parent or guardian (per family) can join and participate in the class free of charge. You are not required to join, but you are welcome!

We have hosted all of our classes in person, but there has been a lot of interest in a virtual class. So, this session, we will also have a virtaul option. The in-person class has limited seating. For participants who plan to attend virtually, please register for the class, and then email us at joelle@yinRoot.com to let us know your plans to attend virtually.

In the past, our in-person classes have been hosted at Joelle's office in downtown Noblesville. We will provide you with the address prior to class.

The fee for our class is $249* and includes 8 hours of education.
*One parent or guardian can attend the session at no cost. Early bird pricing and sibling/friend discounts are available.

- Understanding your body + what is normal and healthy
- Recognizing signs of health
- Understanding hormones
- Brain development + understanding emotions
- Sexual health + STI’s*
- Lifestyle choices and your health
*The topic and content of our discussion will vary based on the girls' ages. We can assure you it will be age-appropriate.
